New Inventory Change Report

A date range report showing how inventory quantities and values have changed over time, broken down by product, variant, and location.

Written by Cynthia Rivera

The Inventory Change Report shows how inventory has been updated over a selected date range β€” starting and ending quantities, what was added, removed, sold, or restocked, and the net change in both quantity and value. It's useful for high-level audits and trend analysis.

πŸ“‹ This article covers the updated Inventory Change Report. If you have questions about the transition, see New Reports Experience β€” What's Changed.

Note: This report is not a replacement for the Inventory Report, which shows total on-hand inventory at a specific point in time. Only products that experienced a quantity change during the selected range will appear here.

Filters β€” Additional Detail

Bundles filter

By default, the report includes both bundles and their components. Use Show Bundles Only to isolate bundle-level rows, or Hide Bundles to see components only.

Note that this filter operates on the current bundle status β€” if a variant's bundle status has changed since the inventory entries occurred, the filter will not reflect that historical distinction.

Change Type filter

Filtering by Change Type shows only variants with activity matching the selected type. For example, selecting Sale shows only variants with a value in the Sold or Restocked columns. Changes made via Bulk Upload or manual adjustments will show as as Other.

Bundles

Bundle rows are marked with a bundle indicator icon in both the generated report and the exported file. If a component is sold on its own and as part of a bundle, those quantity changes are combined under the component row.

Auditing Individual Product Changes

To dig into the history of a specific product, click on the hyperlinked quantity in the Net Qty Change Column. This will pull the item's inventory history, showing all movements.

Exporting & Scheduling

Click the Download button to export the report.

  • PDF β€” Full report as a PDF

  • CSV β€” Full report as a CSV

  • Summary PDF β€” Column totals only

  • Summary CSV β€” Column totals only

Things to Note

  • Only products with a quantity change during the selected date range appear in this report. To see total on-hand inventory at a specific point in time, use the Inventory Report.

  • The report shows net change over the full date range and does not break changes down by smaller increments (e.g., day by day). Pull multiple reports with narrower ranges if needed.

  • If a component is sold on its own and as part of a bundle, those sales quantity changes are combined under the component row.

  • Click any column header to re-sort the report.

  • COGS pulls from lot costs. If a value looks off, check your lot costs.
