A SKU number is a unique identifier for a single item and stands for "Stock Keeping Unit". No two products can share a single SKU number.

Use case

A SKU number is used to create a barcoded price tag, or to look up products internally in your store. It's a tool that gets you immediately to a particular product so you can make updates, changes, transfers, or a sale.
