With Google for Retail, you can grow your e-commerce business's online presence through online listings and other Google programs like Shopping ads.

Prerequisites

  • You are on the Professional plan or above.

    • Learn more about the Professional plan here.

  • At least one active Shopify, WooCommerce, or BigCommerce integration is connected to your Thrive account.

    • Since customers will be checking out on your store, you'll need an active e-commerce integration with Thrive so we know where to send those potential customers.

  • You've claimed your website in Google's Merchant Center.

    • Haven't done that yet? No worries, here's a quick guide!

  • You have connected your Google Merchant Center to Thrive.

    • If you haven't, here's a guide on how to get it all connected!

Synchronizing your catalog with Google for Retail

Items in Thrive can be pushed out to Google for Retail using the Feeds section, located on the detail page for an Item. Simply click on the toggle, then hit Save and Thrive will push this product out to your linked Merchant Center account.

Generally, it can take up to 30 minutes for Google to create new products or apply changes to existing products but don't worry about keeping an eye on things. Thrive will keep track of the item's listing status and email you about any issues that need correcting.

At this time, Thrive does not have a bulk enable option when enabling Items for Google for Retail, but we're working on it!

Resolving issues with your catalog

Sometimes, products that might otherwise be valid on your e-commerce store will have issues on Google for Retail. Thrive checks multiple times per hour to make sure your products are correctly listed and sends you emails if any new issues are detected:

Some issues are a bit straightforward, like a missing price or missing image. Other issues however can take a bit longer to troubleshoot, like a mismatch between your verified website URL and the product page Thrive sends over.

If you're having trouble figuring out what an issue means or why it's occurring, you can try searching on Google's Support Center or reach out to the Thrive team for assistance.

Don't forget that there may be up to a 30-minute delay on Google's side for updates to take effect, so when making changes don't forget to wait a bit before verifying.
