In order for your products to show up on the Shopping Tab, Google requires specific information for approval. Make sure you have this information in Thrive for each of the products you want to list on Google.

Prerequisites

  • You are on the Professional plan or above.

    • Learn more about the Professional plan here.

  • At least one active Shopify, WooCommerce, or BigCommerce integration is connected to your Thrive account.

    • Since customers will be checking out on your store, you'll need an active e-commerce integration with Thrive so Google knows where to send those potential customers.

  • You've claimed your website in Google's Merchant Center.

    • Haven't done that yet? No worries, here's a quick guide!

  • You have connected your Google Merchant Center to Thrive Inventory.

    • If you haven't, here's a guide on how to get it all connected!

Standard fields

This is the minimum information that Google requires for its algorithm to place your product in front of the right shoppers.

  • Product Name (aka the Title in Google)

  • Description

  • Product image (Image)

  • Price

  • Availability (if you don't have any stock of the item, your product may not appear in search results on Google)

  • ID

  • E-commerce link (Link)

With that in mind, chances are if your products are already syncing correctly to your e-commerce site, you should have all of the necessary information in Thrive Inventory for those standard fields.

Keep in mind that Google Merchant Center must approve all products before they can appear on the Google Shopping Tab. The approval process can take up to three days when a new product is added or when any changes are made on a product's listing.

Here's more information from Google about the listing requirements and process.

Enhanced fields

Google Shopping enhanced listings provide Google with additional detailed information to better match your product to potential customers. With enhanced attributes you can enter more details about your product including color, condition, brand, and more.

These additional product details increase the chances of Google showing your product in search results and shoppers making a purchase.

For a full list of enhanced attributes, visit Google's free listing guide.

Enhanced fields are also required if you want to run Google Shopping Ads.

By clicking the 'Manage enhanced fields' (as shown above), you will see more options to help shoppers find your products.

Performance may be limited unless you provide all attributes available in your region:

Product Categories

When a Google Product Category is selected here, it will not be synced out to Google. We are hoping to have this field sync out in the future, but it does not at this time.

Things to Note:

  • Enhanced fields are specific to the Google for Retail integration.

  • By adding a Google for Retail integration, it does count as one of your allotted sales channels for your plan. Click here to see how many locations/integrations your plan allows.
