The Audit Log is a chronological history of all actions taken in Thrive. When you make changes to inventory, upload spreadsheets, edit settings, or perform other actions, Thrive records the timestamp, the user who made the change, and what action was taken.
This tool is essential for tracking down when a specific change occurred and who made it.
Important: Add individual user accounts for each person who uses Thrive. If multiple people share the same login, the Audit Log cannot identify who made specific changes!
Accessing your Audit Log
Main Audit Log
To access your log, head to Settings > Access Control > "View Audit Log" button in the top right corner:
The entries are arranged in chronological order, starting with the most recent.
Check your timezone: Make sure your default timezone settings are correct so timestamps match your local time.
If you're looking for something specific, you can use the Date range or Search fields to narrow down the results.
For example, try searching "Deleted" for a record of deleted items, "Spreadsheet" to recover the URL of a bulk upload, or an item name to see when it was created or last edited.
You can click on the Action in blue to see more details in JSON format. This can be difficult to interpret, but it usually isn't necessary to dig through.
Downloading your Audit Log
Download the Audit Log from the Settings Tab > Access Control Tab > Click View Audit Log.
Enter the relevant date range or keywords. Scroll through the Audit Log to load any data that you would like downloaded.
Click on the PDF or CSV text in the top right corner of the audit log:
Product-Specific Audit Log
Another way to see entries related to a specific product is from the product itself.
From the Edit Products Page
You can view the Product Audit Log on the Edit Product Page by clicking on the gear wheel, then View Audit Log as seen here:
Things to Note:
The Audit Log can only identify who made changes if each person has their own user account. Multiple people sharing one login appear as the same user in the log.
The audit log will automatically hide entries after 366 days.Download important records before this time limit if you need permanent records.
The audit log does not detail out the exact changes such as "Name updated, Cost updated, etc". It is required to compare the JSON entires to identify specific changes. If you need help understanding item changes, please reach out to the Customer Care team!
