Updating Quantities, Costs, and Prices (New Experience)

Add and Edit the quantity, cost, and price in Thrive's new experience.

Updated this week

Changes and updates to inventory and quantities should ONLY be made in Thrive.

Any change or update made in Thrive will reflect automatically in minutes at the point of sale, as long as the integration settings are set to sync (as recommended).

Important to Know:

  • Changes to inventory information made in your integration will never pull into Thrive automatically.

  • Sales made at your point of sale will be decremented automatically within Thrive.

Alternative Method: Inventory changes and updates can also be made via
Spreadsheet Bulk Upload.

Updating items from the Bins View

Edit and add to quantities, and edit and set location-specific costs and prices from the Bins View.

Edit Stock Levels

Perfect for adjusting quantities to match what you actually have in stock.

  1. From the Bins View of your catalog, select Edit Stock Levels from the Stock Management Icon.

  2. Enter your updated quantities and click Save.

  3. You'll then have two options for updating quantities:

Option 1: Update via Stocktake

Choose to record changes in Stocktakes if you would like the changes to be added to a Stocktake within Thrive.

Additional options for Stocktakes:

  • Under More Options, select if you would like to Keep the Stocktakes open for further changes, or Approve and Complete the Stocktakes now

  • You'll also have the option to select an existing stocktake to add the changes to, or create a new one

  • You'll also have the opportunity to add line item notes for your changes

Multi-location note: If you're updating items across multiple locations, separate stocktakes will need to be created/updated.

Option 2: Manual Adjustment

Select Only Update Quantities to adjust without a Stocktake. Make sure to edit the unit cost (Lot cost) if needed and add notes for your adjustment.

Add to Stock Levels

Perfect for receiving new inventory or adding to existing stock.

  1. Under the same Stock Management icon, you'll find the option to Add to Stock Levels.

  2. Enter details

    1. Enter quantities to add to existing inventory

    2. Leave a note if needed (always a good idea!)

    3. Edit unit cost if needed

    4. Select Confirm

This adds to your existing quantities. For example, if you have 5 units and add 3, you'll have 8 total.

Note: You can also "Add" a negative number (e.g. "-3") to deduct quantities instead of editing.

Edit Location- Specific Costs and Prices for Individual Items

Change pricing or costs for specific items at specific locations.

Clicking on the Edit Costs & Prices Icon allows you to edit bin (location-specific) costs & prices.

Set Location-Specific Costs & Prices for Multiple Items

If you're setting the same price or cost to multiple items, easily do this from the Bins View.

  1. Select the items from the Bins View. Add filters or search to refine your search.

  2. Once items are selected, click on the pencil icon and either Set Costs or Set Prices.

  3. Enter your new price or cost, and all items selected will be updated with that value.

Why Can't I Edit Costs & Prices on the Bins View?

You'll only be able to edit/set Costs and Prices for items with Use Defaults Off. Refer to the Use Defaults column to see if the item is editable. Use Defaults can be turned off from the Product Details Page, or within the Product Settings in the Bin Details Page.

Transfer Inventory Quantities

This option will take you to the Internal Transfers page where you can move inventory between locations.

Delete

Deleting products cannot be undone! To learn more about this method (and another) for deleting products and variants, click the button below:

Notes

Always leave a note! Notes are strongly recommended for all changes. You can always go back and see the note that was made on any change.

Thrive makes it easy to manage inventory and keep track of all changes to your Inventory History. Simply click on the number in the Quantity column to view the Inventory History.
